Bar & Restaurant

Where the flavour inebriates you

Lilly's Restaurant

Lilly’s, our flagship restaurant, is open seven days a week and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves a fusion of Tanzanian, European, Arabic and Indian cuisine, creating a rainbow of sensational flavors.

Our menu is put-together by our top chefs according to what’s in season and ready for picking. Additionally, these chefs are masters of real raw food and know how to create tip-top meals to satisfy your taste buds — a special skill that keeps guests coming back for more.

The Setting

Lilly’s restaurant sits alongside the abundant greenery and coffee plantation. The weather is almost always fair, but even when it isn’t entirely lovely, this is still a wonderful spot to sip some cocktails as you watch the sunset, listen to the birds, and relax on the comfy day beds.

The History

After Noticing The Untapped Potential Of Food Tourism In Arusha, Lilian And Edward Opened Lilly’s Restaurant. Since The City Had Always Been Ripe With Visitors Heading To And From The Airports And Local National Parks, The Restaurant Would Become The Perfect Midpoint For Tourists To Dine At During Their Travels.

The Couple Also Opened Lilly’s To Provide Customers With Pure Tanzanian Cuisine, Showcasing The Very Best Of African Culinary Culture In The Process.

Today, Lilly’s Serves A Variety Of Dishes Designed To Satisfy Your Appetite. Our Versatile Chefs Are Adept At Working With A Variety Of Cooking Materials That Range From Bananas To Machalari, Or Grains And Beans To Makande. We Hope You’ll Enjoy All Of The Distinct Tastes And Flavors Our Restaurant Has To Offer.

The Design

Before the creation of the restaurant we know and love today, Lilly’s went through multiple location changes before being built. Initially, the restaurant was going to be placed in the lodge, but logistical issues meant that it had to be stationed a distance from the main building.

Eventually, the couple relocated Lilly’s outside. They placed it far from the main building to ensure that all the elements of a positive dining experience — convenience, privacy, a calming ambiance, and quick service — were possible.

The restaurant theoretically closes at 11 pm but will stay open until you finish your meal.

Room Service

Room service is available from 7 am to 10 pm, but for late or early travellers the kitchen staff will specially prepare dishes if you’re hankering for something after hours. Despite having minibars in your rooms, staff are in attendance 24/7.

The Bars

Open 24 hours a day, there’s always a smiling soul on hand to mix you a cocktail or offer you a selection of local and international wine from Eddy’s wine cellar. Also, the freshest of just-blended juices, herbal healing drinks (including herbal teas), thirst-quenching coconut water, and our home-grown coffee are available throughout the day at our Jerry’s Bar and the poolside Charles’ Bar.

Jerry’s Bar

This special bar is named in memory of the late Bob Jerry. A beloved family member, Jerry loved his beer, hanging out with friends, listening to energetic rap music and having lots of fun. So, it only felt natural to name the bar after him. If he was around today, we’d never be able to get him off the bar counter!

Before he passed away, he traveled across the USA on the road trip of a lifetime. In the span of four weeks, they’d visited almost every corner of the country and, along the way, Jerry always had a friend around he could say hello too.

Here’s a toast to you Bob Jerry. May your soul rest in peace.

Charles’ Bar

Situated by the pool, our all-new Charles’ bar is where you can grab a tasty drink to sip while basking in the Tanzanian sunshine.

This time, our second bar is named after Charles: our younger, loyal brother who says a lot in a few words. Since he’s a very relaxed man, it only made sense to name the most tranquil area of our lodge after him.

Eddy’s Wine Cellar

Enjoy the delights of fine wine at Eddy’s Wine Cellar. Located 3 meters in the ground and reinforced with concrete, the basement is the optimum temperature for storing Amani’s impressive selection of drinks. In the cellar, you can sip on red wine, rose, and champagne, or even enjoy a drop of whisky from the bar.

Please note:

Price per bottle starts from $35.
For groups up to 20 people, the exclusivity fee is $100 per group.

Before it was transformed into a wine cellar, the basement was initially a storage and archive area for clients, as well as a water tank for rainwater harvesting. Today, the space is decorated with an impressive range of furniture. Much of the timber comes from the site, while the wine drums are from South Africa.
